Description
The Ambassador Program consists of enthusiastic volunteers from the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce membership who donate their time to build member commitment and raise community awareness of Chamber activities and benefits. In doing so, Ambassadors grow professionally and personally by building business relationships within the community. The program is ideal if you have a desire to become more active in the local business environment, raise awareness of your business or organization and give back to your community.

Requirements
As an Ambassador, you are required to:
- Be a current member of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce
- Have your employer’s approval to participate in the program
- Participate in Ambassador Orientation before actively serving
- Serve for a period of at least 12 months
- Members shall be required to participate in a minimum of 50% of the designated Ambassadors events/activities each year
Application Process
If you are interested in becoming an Ambassador, please click the link and complete the Ambassador application. The Program runs from January to December, but applications are accepted year round. Ambassadors meet every other odd month on the third Wednesday of the month. Description
Leadership Shelby County encourages class members to become motivated and committed community leaders. It helps them explore and develop action plans for addressing local needs and issues. It provides a forum for persons to meet and exchange thoughts and ideas with current and prospective leaders of the community, and it develops and nurtures as special bond among class members which aides them in effectively promoting work on community projects.
Each month, starting in October, with a “hands on” approach, the class studies specific topics including heritage, local government, economic development, health and social services, agriculture, education and quality of life. By exposing the Leadership Class to timely issues, and by meeting with speakers who are experts in their fields, a well-rounded growth experience occurs. Upon graduation, class members are expected to continue their Leadership experience by planning the curriculum for the next class. They can also take their knowledge into the community to benefit both their professional and personal lives.
All persons from throughout Shelby County who are interested in community trusteeship are encouraged to apply. Each year the program brings together a diverse group of no more than 15 men and women, selected from the applicants who have been carefully chosen for their degree of involvement in the community and level of commitment to the goals of Leadership Shelby County.
Leadership Shelby County meets every other year, the third Wednesday of each month from October to May. The next Leadership Shelby County Class will being in the fall of 2023. Applications can be downloaded from the website and will be accepted anytime. A review of the applications will not begin until June 2023.
Requirements
Anyone throughout Shelby County who is interested in community trusteeship may apply.

Description
The purpose of the Junior Chamber of Commerce/Young Ambassador Program is to develop leadership skills as well as assist the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and the Ambassadors in various projects and opportunities of hospitality and service.

NextGen
Description
NextGen is organized to bring together the talents and insights of emerging young professionals in Shelby County. NextGen is a network of a dynamic and diverse group with a passion to make a difference, desire to build relationships, the energy to get involved in the community and retain young professionals through increased opportunities and resources. NextGen offers innovative ways for young professionals to socialize and expand their professional horizon. The group also addresses community needs through philanthropic endeavors and a scholarship program.
